Niobium disilicide (NbSi2)

Niobium disilicide (NbSi2)/Niobium disilicide binary alloy matrix composite is a promising high-temperature structural material. In this biphase composite, niobium solid solution of provides room temperature toughness and niobium disilicide (NbSi2) provides high temperature strength. This composite has high thermodynamic stability and micro-structure stability at high temperature. Meanwhile, niobium disiliside (NbSi2) -based ultra-super alloy has high melting point, low density and excellent comprehensive properties, which can be applied to gas turbine engine blades and on the hot end components of the detached ramjet of aerospace vehicles.
